I haven't been reading many real books lately...I confess I have been addicted to HP fanfiction...
But of what I've read this last year (that I remember)
I loved American Born Chinese by: Gene Luen Yang. It was really fun to read especially as an American Born Indian Halfie. I could relate a lot and graphic novels are always a nice change for me. I also loved the multiple yet connected plot lines. The main character's struggle with identity and stereotypes was relate able and telling, yet still humorous.
Rating out of 10: 9
I also really enjoyed reading Erec Rex The Dragon's Eye by: Kaza Kingsley. The author was at Ascendio giving out free signed books. I was really exited to read the books because I haven't read much fantasy recently. It was interesting, fun, and thoughtful. Also I was really missing detailed fantasy worlds and kingdoms, and Erec Rex has that for sure! I can't wait to read the rest of the Erec Rex books!
Rating out of 10: 7.5
