Opinions

Kryztle of Izzy Manor
I'm about half way through The Casual Vacancy and I will not write about what I think until the very end. I will say one thing though. SERIOUSLY JKR?! You named a character "Krystal"? The name that I spent hours talking about how it peeved me! Now whenever I think of Krystal Weedon I think of this:

GAAAAAAAAH!
I do like the book though. Although Fats Wall seems like a big jerk to me.

Hours

It's only a matter of hours until The Casual Vacancy comes out. This is the biggest freak out I've had since Ascendio. I need some sirius (hehehe) nerd camaraderie right now. I can't wait to get my hands on J.K.R.'s newest literary feast. AHHHHHHH!

New Look

The Casual Vacancy AAAAAAAAH FREAKING OUT!

I've redecorated. Yes, I love lime green, but I felt the need for a change. I like this background more and blue-green is also purrdy. Also the fonts were kind of too much, so I simplified. I like this look quite a lot actually...Now I'm rambling.

FRENCH THE LLAMA!!! THE CASUAL VACANCY COMES OUT IN A MATTER OF DAYS!!! I'm a little nervous what if I don't like it? What if it's boring? What if I just get sad and wish it was HP? I really hope it's fantastic. I wish J.K.R. would write more HP. She could write about The Marauders. Or she could write about the Next Gen and make up for the no-info epilogue. Ahh...one can hope.

Books update

I haven't been reading many real books lately...I confess I have been addicted to HP fanfiction...
But of what I've read this last year (that I remember)

I loved American Born Chinese by: Gene Luen Yang. It was really fun to read especially as an American Born Indian Halfie. I could relate a lot and graphic novels are always a nice change for me. I also loved the multiple yet connected plot lines. The main character's struggle with identity and stereotypes was relate able and telling, yet still humorous.

I also really enjoyed reading Erec Rex The Dragon's Eye by: Kaza Kingsley. The author was at Ascendio giving out free signed books. I was really exited to read the books because I haven't read much fantasy recently. It was interesting, fun, and thoughtful. Also I was really missing detailed fantasy worlds and kingdoms, and Erec Rex has that for sure! I can't wait to read the rest of the Erec Rex books!

Forever ago

Wow I stopped posting forever ago...I wonder why...ha, no one reads this but me...Ah well writing it good for me.

Things that have happened in over a year:
  1. I WENT TO ASCENDIO 2012 (a Harry Potter convention)
  2. I became a hardcore NERDFIGHTER
  3. I came out as a HUFFLEPUFF(s are incredibly good finders)
  4. I became OBSESSED with Dessa and Tegan & Sara
  5. I fell into a WINDOW WELL yesterday...
  6. I became [more] AWFUL at blogging apparently
Okay obviously the only thing of note on there is Ascendio (hufflepuff and nerdfighter are important too)...which was so amazing. It, so far, was the best few days of my life. I got to just be around Potter-Heads like me all day long. We listened to Wrock, talked to people from Team Starkid (and fangirl-ed....a lot...embarrassing), saw HP fan shows, went to HP world, played Quidditch, and we went to panels on the books/movies. It was my first real-life experience with the Harry Potter community and fandom, and I really hope it won't be the last.

Ascendio made me even more thrilled to be a part of this incredible fandom. I still wish I was older though. I definitely felt like a baby while at Ascendio. I wish I was older when the books came out. Since Ascendio I've missed being around Potter people so so much, it's post-potter depression all over again. Now I just need to figure out how I can go to LeakeyCon next year!

I came back from India yesterday. We came in via Paris...on air France...in premium seating. The seats were weird. We got free anti-wrinkle cream. I watched Brides Maids and cried. Then I watched Patiala House and cried more...it was great. I have directly and indirectly converted at least two people from non-knitters to knitters!!! whooohoo! thats all for now.

Almost Perfect  By: Brian Katcher  Book Preview
I really enjoyed this book. It's about this boy (Logan); who lives in a small town in Missouri. He has just been dumped by his girlfriend, and after being with her for four years Logan is having a hard time recovering.when a new girl comes into school (Sage) and he is almost instantly transfixed. As they become friends Logan begins to realize that there is something Sage is hiding- something that could change jeopardize their new friendship, and change both of their lives for ever.

HATS HATS HATS (more hats?)

So I went to Iowa... in Iowa my aunt took me to Micheal's. At Micheal's I found some really pretty yarn; we bought it (thank you auntie Lori). we went home ( to my aunt's house in Iowa that is) and  I decided I wanted to knit a hat. To find a pattern I looked to my favorite search engine...GOOGLE!  I found the perfect pattern and became obsessed. Within a few days I had finished my hat. I have enough yarn to make another one! YYYYYAAAYYYAAY! here is a pic! I love my lovely hat!

Earlier Projects

I made some stuff a while ago that I did not have time to put up on my blog here it is:

A purse I knit for my friend/sister:                                                               An Ipod case I knit for my father:

My latest project

Lately I've been knitting curtain ties for all the curtains in my house there are 12 windows so 24 curtain ties total. I have 11 ties done... they are pretty quick to finish I  can do around 3 or 4 a day. Sometimes they get boring, so I have to listen to music or watch a movie while I knit. On a more random note I've been sorta sick lately and I have a sore throat (which is annoying) so I started taking allergy meds (zyrtec) and guess what?! I'm getting better yaaaay! also tomorrow I'm going to San Diego to meet one of my mom's college friends...I'm really exited!

hi Y'all!

I have come to the desision that I WILL talk about book, but WILL NOT change the blog title. thank you.
Moving on I have officially lost my size 11 circular knitting needles. I am sad. I have also lost a mini-ball of the wooly-blue yarn.

Now for the good news. I got a basket as a gif, and it is perfect for all my yarn. Next I cleaned out my closet and found some more really pretty yarn! Photos to come...  Also I knit my friend a cell phone sock/case thing. if anyone is interested or wants one post a comment with the color preference and dimensions of your phone.
